About Aarhus Table Tennis Club

Aarhus BordTennis Klub – directly translated: Aarhus Table Tennis Club - is the strongest club in the western part of Denmark.

Aarhus is Denmarks second largest city with approximately 275.000 inhabitants. It is situated in Jutland, and is a popular city known for its university, the charming town center and the beautiful surroundings close to the sea and forests.

In the season 2009/2010 Aarhus BTK plays in the STIGA Divisionen - the best league in Denmark - as well as in the 1. Division which is the second best league. This season Aarhus BTK has an Under 18 team playing in the Juniordivision with good chances to reach the final round.

The training is headed by Claus Junge and Anders Moelgaard. Claus Junge is a former Danish national table tennis team player and ex-pro in Germany, and both Junge and Moelgaard is former head coaches for national youth table tennis teams.

The western part of the Danish  national table tennis center is located in Aarhus and Aarhus BTK has a close cooperation with the center as all Aarhus BTK players are attending the center.

Aarhus BTK was established in 2007 as cooperation between VRI and Stavtrup, two clubs which through ages have created some of the best young table tennis players in Denmark.

Aarhus BTK´ vision is to give the best players in the Aarhus region the best opportunities to exercise their sport. This includes the best training facilities as well as an environment which gives focus to the player’s preparation and attitude to both training and competition.

At the same time Aarhus BTK aims to cooperate with and support the smaller clubs in the aera in order to coordinate the activities and to facilitate the transition from the smaller club to the elite environment.

Within the last year most of the Aarhus players have attended training camps and competitions in Belgium, China, Germany and Sweeden.
